Jury Awards $4.2 Million For Loss of Leg and Failure to Diagnose

A Philadelphia jury found physicians and the hospital liable for a double knee replacement that resulted in the plaintiff’s leg being amputated.  The plaintiff alleged, and a jury agreed that physicians and the hospital failed to timely diagnose an infection post surgery which ultimately led to a leg amputation.

The verdict was broken down into $500,000 for past pain and suffering, $1.36 million for future pain and suffering, $127,000 for lost wages, $82,000 for past care costs, and approximately $2.13 million in future medical expenses.
